Tax Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Manager to oversee all aspects of their company’s tax strategy and compliance. The Tax Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local, state, federal, and international tax regulations, optimizing tax liabilities, managing audits, and advising on tax planning opportunities. This role requires strong analytical skills, up-to-date technical tax knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and ensure timely filing of all corporate tax returns, including federal, state, local, and international filings.
  • Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provisions (ASC 740).
  • Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess the impact on the organization.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage tax audits and resolve tax-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with transfer pricing requirements and assist with global tax planning.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives from a tax perspective.
  • Train and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and development within the team.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and HR teams to align tax strategies with broader business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or JD/LLM in Taxation preferred).
  • CPA certification required.
  • 5+ years of progressive tax experience, ideally public accounting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and international tax laws.
  • Experience with tax provision software and ERP systems (e.g., OneSource, Alteryx, SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex tax regulations effectively.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Salary: $115,000 – $135,000
