We are seeking a Tax Director with deep expertise in real estate taxation to join our growing firm. This strategic leadership role offers the opportunity to lead client engagements, mentor staff, and help shape the future of our real estate practice—without the expectation of bringing a book of business.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex real estate tax engagements for a diverse client portfolio (including REITs, partnerships, and private real estate funds).
  • Advise clients on real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, like-kind exchanges (1031), cost segregation, opportunity zones, and partnership structures.
  • Maintain deep technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations relevant to the real estate industry.
  • Review and sign off on complex tax returns, including 1065, 1120, and 1120-REIT filings.
  • Collaborate with the firm’s leadership to drive growth and efficiency in the real estate practice area.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop tax professionals and managers.
  • Support business development efforts in conjunction with firm partners (but not required to bring a book).

 

Requirements:

  • CPA or JD required; MST or LLM preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive tax experience with a focus on real estate, preferably in public accounting or a consulting firm.
  • Demonstrated expertise in real estate partnerships, REITs, and related tax structures.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Ability to foster client relationships and deliver high-quality service.

 

Salary: $150,000 – $200,000
