Senior Accountant – Real Estate Experience

Our client is looking to hire a Senior Accountant with experience in real estate.

This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in financial operations across a diverse property portfolio. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple sets of books, and capable of working independently while supporting broader team goals.

You’ll be responsible for full-cycle accounting duties including financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, and analysis, along with specialized real estate tasks such as CAM reconciliations and investor distributions. This role requires a high level of technical skill and organization, along with a proactive mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage general ledger activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and adjustments
• Perform budget preparation and variance analysis
• Oversee multiple property books and ensure accuracy of records across entities
• Execute CAM reconciliations and handle investor reporting/distributions
• Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial reporting regulations
• Collaborate with property management and executive teams on financial operations
• Assist with process improvements and automation of accounting procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

• Solid background in general accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting
• Strong analytical mindset and experience in account reconciliations
• Working knowledge of GAAP and compliance best practices
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commonly used accounting systems
• Experience with Yardi, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Word is preferred
• Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail
• Ability to manage tasks independently while contributing in a team environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• Prior experience supporting audits is advantageous
• Experience handling real estate-specific functions like CAM reconciliations and investor distributions
• CPA license or active CPA candidacy is a plus

Salary: $90,000 – $104,000
