Tax Manager
Our client seeks an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax compliance and planning, a commitment to mentoring staff, and the ability to oversee and review complex tax returns. This role requires a highly motivated professional with a track record of success in public accounting and the ability to effectively manage client relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct 100% review of corporate, partnership, individual, and other tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Supervise, train, and mentor tax staff and senior associates, providing guidance and professional development.
- Manage multiple client engagements across industries such as manufacturing/distribution, construction, technology, real estate, and professional services.
- Provide strategic tax planning and consulting services to clients, identifying tax-saving opportunities.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax documents and adherence to regulatory deadlines.
- Research and analyze complex tax issues, staying up to date with changes in tax legislation and industry trends.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to address tax-related inquiries and provide solutions.
- Assist with business development efforts, including client relationship management and identifying opportunities for service expansion.
Qualifications:
- CPA license is required.
- 6 – 10 years of progressive tax experience in a mid-size CPA firm.
- Proven ability to review and sign off on complex tax returns with a high level of accuracy.
- Experience supervising and mentoring staff, fostering professional growth and team development.
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Industry experience in any of the following sectors: manufacturing/distribution, construction, technology, real estate, or professional services.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective client and team interactions.
- Proficiency in tax preparation and accounting software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, or similar).
Salary: $140K + DOE
