This is a hands on financial management position; there is no controller or accounting manager. The CFO ensures timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting for Partners. Will report to firm COO, Managing Partner and other members of executive committee. Makes sure that all reports are made to all the appropriate departments in a timely manner. The CFO coordinates audits and makes sure the proper filing of tax returns is handled in a timely manner. The CFO ensures all legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions is kept. CFO will coordinate with outside CPA Firm (Grant Thornton). Will provide analysis to management on various aspects of firm’s financial operations.

The CFO will oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions. The CFO supervises the staff in the accounting department making sure that the department runs smoothly. The CFO ensures maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.

Will perform or oversee:

• Cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
• Periodic financial reporting.
• Assistance in preparation of tax package for outside CPA firm.
• Cash, investment, and asset management.
• Financial strategies and activities, as well as banking relationships.
• Employees (4 clerks and 1 Analyst).

Qualifications:
Ideal candidate background will have:

• Minimum of BS/BA in Accounting
• CPA is helpful but not a must.
• 10+ years’ experience (5+ years must be as a Controller or higher).
• Familiar with standard General Ledger and reporting functions analysis and various ad hoc reports.
• Law Firm or Professional Service Firm experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of OMEGA software (which is used for time / billing and also for GL maintenance).

Benefits: Full Employee Benefits Package

Salary: $125,000 - $140,000
