Accounting Manager - West LA

Title: Accounting Manager/Bookkeeper

Reports to: Controller

Based at: Los Angeles, CA

Manage all regular day to day activities of general accounting, as well as all administrative and treasury functions. Ensure compliance with established policies, regulations and procedures.  Keeping the accounting/payroll and benefits responsibilities timely and accurate. Backup to the Payroll and Benefits Coordinator.  Cover for the Controller when out of the office.  Assist the Controller on a consistent basis with ad-hoc reports and various projects.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
Accounting:

  • Comprehensive understanding of and experience in financial statements and transactions.
  • Prepare cash flow projections and control cash management operations.
  • Preparation, maintenance and presentation of financial data internally or externally.
  • Identify and resolve system issues.
  • Perform journal entries for amortization, depreciation, allocations, inter-company transactions, and correcting entries.
  • Research accounting transactions, demonstrating a keen ability to recognize and resolve discrepancies.
  • Follow through on timely and accurate month-end closings and financial reporting activities.
  • Reconcile monthly all asset accounts and bank statements.
  • Manage and oversee accounts payable, general ledger transactions/reconciliation, journal entries.
  • Administration of medical, dental, vision, 401(k), Cobra, including billing, enrollments on websites and entering into payroll.
  • Semi-monthly payroll using ADP and EZLabor.
  • Payroll service administration through online ADP program.

Requirements:

  • Solid Accounting and financial statement knowledge and experience.
  • Experienced in processing payroll for more than 100 employees.
  • ADP and EZ Labor a plus.
  • Must be adept in use of MS Office 2000 or later. Minimum of Intermediate level in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Previous experience with PeachTree, QuickBooks and/or other accounting programs.
  • Minimum of five years in a corporate accounting environment.
  • Accounting degree required.
  • Multi-location experience.

Salary: 55,000 to 70,000
